Coming Summer of 2009, Bear's Den goes king size. Bears Den will feature double king suites so now when traveling with friends to your Smoky Mountain Cabin near Bryson City, North Carolina, there won't be a fight over who gets the big bed!

At Mountain Bear Cabins we strive to provide a great place to stay at a great value. We recognize there are many homes in the Smokies to rent and we believe that our homes offer amenities that few others do and an attitude toward providing an exceptional stay.

Our bedding is fine quality. We would never make you sleep on some old cheap-o mattress. We offer fine audio and video equipment for your viewing and listening pleasure. Our furniture features authentic Appalachian and Ammish pieces, like the hickory chair and sassafrass table pictured here at Bear's Den. We proudly offer top of the line portable spa's by Hot Springs. We keep the place clean and repaired. Every spring we steam clean the carpets and deep clean the homes.

Bear's Den is secluded on 2.5 acres tucked in the Nantahala National Forest surrounded by pines and hardwoods. If you are looking for a great Smoky Mountain Cabin near the Nantahla River Gorge or the Fontana Lake region, then come inside and check out Bear's Den. Bear's Den is located in the eastern end of the Nantahala River Gorge just off of US 74 and is less than 5 minutes from the Nantahala River Gorge.

Bear's Den features fine crafted Appalachain hickory furniture, fine leather/fabric sofas and over stuffed chairs, locally made red oak dinning table and local art from around the area. Bear's Den is finely decorated but still rough enough around the edges to be called a mountain cabin. You comfort is paramount at the Den.

Bear's Den is a 3 level, 3 bedroom, 3 bath Smoky Mountain cabin with the main living area on second the level. Access to Bear's Den is either by steps or a five-foot wide ramp. All the bedrooms are on the second and third levels. There is a full bath on each level of the home. The fully equipped kitchen is on the second level. The main living area of the cabin features a 35 inch Sony TV with a Yamaha home theater reciever and Bose speakers. Each TV has its own dedicated satelltie reciever with Dish Network's Top 120 and Sirrus Satellite radio. The ground floor features a bonus room with a new Toshiba 26" high definition TV, 2 futons, drop leaf game table with chairs, dresser and full bath.

Outside, Bear's Den has a large covered porch with a spacious sun deck with a nice view of Wesser Bald and the surrounding mountains of the cove. The 6 seater Hot Spring spa is under cover of the porch. The Bonus Room has a covered porch and a hammock awaits you and a good book for a relaxing afternoon.
